大洛杉矶地区 (英语：Greater Los Angeles Area)

大洛杉矶地区 又称南加州，指的是美国加利福尼亚州南部的一个横跨5个县的大型联合统计区：洛杉矶县（Los Angeles）、橙县（Orange）、圣伯纳迪诺县(SanBernardino)、河滨县(Riverside)以及文图拉县(Ventura)。 华人喜爱的置业点在圣盖博谷的东区、西区以及橙县，前两者属于洛杉矶县，后者也被称为橘子郡(Orange county)。

洛杉矶得天独厚的阳光，沙滩，大别墅正是洛杉矶都会区的迷人特色。它因此吸引了全美37%的华人会定居加州, 也就不足为奇了。

注：我们常说的洛杉矶有三种：洛杉矶市，洛杉矶县，大洛杉矶地区. 这三个地区的关系是： 洛杉矶市是隶属洛杉矶县的一个城市，洛杉矶县隶属于大洛杉矶地区。在美国，县级相当于郡级。众多的城市聚集在一起隶属县级（郡级）。这和中国的城市地区行政划分有很大的不同。总结来说：洛杉矶是美国第二大城市，以洛杉矶为核心的南加州城市群同样为美国第二大都市圈，是一座名副其实的巨型城市。

尔湾（Irvine）

尔湾市位于加州橙县, 成立时做了完整的城市规划，加州大学尔湾分校的校舍建筑也配合整个尔湾市而设计，环境优美、街道宽广、市容整齐、社区内绿树成荫，是由著名的尔湾公司精心规划出来的梦想城市。

尔湾市坐落于南加州“技术海岸”的中心，因其生机勃勃的商业环境而著称。该市也以拥有以下优势而闻名遐迩：宜人的气候、大量受过良好教育和技术培训的劳动力、全美最安全的社区、充足的优良住宅供应和众多生活娱乐设施等。

尔湾市大部分地区位于尔湾联合学区内，该学区内有四所高中，分别是：大学高中、尔湾市高中、诺斯伍德高中（Northwood）和伍德布里奇高中（Woodbridge）。尔湾地区的高中API成绩平均在八百七十分以上，接近九百分。其中，大学高中在2011年位列全美最好高中排行榜第八位，全美最好公立高中排行榜第二位。中学API评分均在九百分以上。小学更是优秀，有十八所学校的API成绩超过九百分。
